AMBER L. OTERI, DVM
Dr. Amber L. Oteri is one of the new owners of Crossroads Animal Clinic, but is already a familiar face, having worked here on a relief basis for a year before purchasing the practice in September 2007. Born and raised in Memphis, Dr. Oteri grew up showing horses in the West Tennessee and North Mississippi area, before heading to New York City where she received her undergraduate degree (in theatre) from Columbia University. Always an animal lover, it was a sick pet chinchilla that led her into an Animal ER in New York, and thus began her journey towards pursuing a life in the practice of animal medicine. She received her doctorate in 2000 from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, then relocated to the Atlanta area in November of the same year.
Dr. Oteri’s goal at Crossroads is to provide the highest quality of medicine possible and to help her achieve that goal, she has brought onboard new staff members that she has worked with in the past. Her highly qualified personnel share her goals and her love of the Crossroads family of pets. While her focus is on wellness and preventative medicine, she also has a strong interest in oncology and internal medicine. Her devotion to the animals and their “parents” is obvious upon first meeting, and that devotion follows throughout the animal’s life.
Dr. Oteri is sometimes accompanied to work by her 6 year old Chihuahua, Anya, while the other 3 dogs and 6 cats remain behind to guard their home. Her hobbies include reading (especially Harry Potter and true crime stories), music and movies.

About Our Clinic And Our Philosophy
Crossroads Animal Clinic was founded in 1998 by Dr. Linda Light, and has always been dedicated to providing the best possible care for both our patients and their owners. In 2007, Dr. Light decided to sell the clinic, and Dr. Amber Oteri and Stephanie Baker-Oteri took over ownership in September of last year. We are both very excited to continue that dedication and to continue growing the hospital, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to put something of a new face on Crossroads Animal Clinic. The existing facility has been expanded by nearly 70%. Office and storage space have been added to help the staff work more efficiently, and a break area for the staff is now available to provide a more relaxed environment and thus improve productivity. We have also made changes in our reception area and exam rooms to try and provide a warmer and more comfortable atmosphere for both our patients and their “parents“. We realize that your pets are a very important part of your family, and we want you and your pets to feel like you are a part of our Crossroads family!
We appreciate the trust that you have placed in us in allowing us to care for your pets. We take that responsibility to heart! We will always work with you to ensure that your pet receives the best medical and surgical services available, as well as everything else you need to keep your pet healthy and happy. Our primary goal is the health, happiness, and well-being of your four-legged family members! Expect nothing less for your pet!
